在我们今天读到了使徒行传第2章中记载的事件，此前400年，神就应许了圣灵的降临。神的应许总是会实现的。在古时（旧约时期），神的灵主要降临在先知、祭司和君王身上，但在基督复活后的五旬节，圣灵成了每个人的礼物。这意味着我们每个人都有可能在生活中经历圣灵的同在。

你不一定要成为特别的人，你不需要成为完美，圣灵的恩赐也是为你预备的。

为了接受圣灵，初期基督徒需要在逾越节后等待50天，而耶稣复活是在犹太传统的逾越节记念活动结束后发生的。这就是这一天被称为五旬节的原因。

但我们不必再等待，圣灵是我们现在就可以拥有的礼物。因着圣灵进入我们的生命，我们得到了太多的祝福，以至于我们需要用毕生的时间才能领略知其一二。尽管如此，我们还是可以有足够多的认识，让我们的生命充满爱、喜乐、平安以及更多的美善。

我建议你用ABC的倒推公式。首先向神认罪（Confess）；（参徒 2:38）相信（Believe）神赦免你的罪，因为耶稣已经为我们所有的罪付上了代价；祈求（Ask）圣灵，无论你是谁，相信神都乐意将圣灵的恩赐给你。

God promised the coming of the Holy Spirit about 400 years before the events in our reading for today in Acts 2. God's promises always come true. In earlier times (the Old Testament period) the Spirit of God came mainly on prophets, priests, and kings. But on Pentecost the Spirit became a gift for everyone. This means that all of us can experience the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

You don't have to be special. You don't have to be perfect. The gift of the Holy Spirit is for you.

To receive the Holy Spirit, the first generation of Christians had to wait 50 days after Jesus' resurrection (Easter), which took place at the end of the traditional Passover celebration. That is why the day is called Pentecost.

But we don't have to wait. The Spirit is a gift that we can have right now. And the blessings we receive by the Spirit's coming into our lives are so many that it takes a lifetime to begin to understand them all. Still, we can understand enough to have our lives filled with love, joy, peace, and much more.

I suggest that you use the formula ABC backwards: Confess your sin to God (see Acts 2:38). Believe that God will forgive you, because Jesus has paid the price for all our sin. Ask for the Holy Spirit, and no matter who you are, God will give you the gift of the Holy Spirit.
